The Quincy Family YMCA is committed to giving youth members the opportunity to use the YMCA facility for appropriate membership and program activities. When using the facility, youth members are expected to follow the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Those individuals who do not may face consequences such as removal from the building, performing community service or suspension/termination of membership privileges.
To ensure that their usage of the building is appropriate in terms of time and space, the following general guidelines have been established for youth using the facility:
Ages 8 years and under
Must be accompanied by a parent at all times while using any area of the facility.
Must exit the facility by 8:00pm on weekdays (M-TH) with their parents.
Must exit the facility by 9:00pm on Fridays and at closing time on Saturday and Sunday with their parents.
Ages 9-13 years
May use the building between the weekday (M-TH) hours from 2:00pm-8:00pm. Youth will be asked to leave the building or call their parents for a ride once the time reaches 8:00pm.
Must exit the facility by 9:00pm on Fridays and at closing time on Saturday and Sunday.
May not use the facility for more than 4 continuous hours on the same day. Youth who reach 4 continuous hours of use will be asked to leave the building or call their parents for a ride.
Ages 14 years and older
Have the same membership use privileges as adult members. Must follow all adult member guidelines and rules throughout the facility.
Do not have any restrictions as to when they must exit the facility.
It is recommended that children ages 14-17 spend no more than 4 continuous hours on the same day using the YMCA facility for member or program use.
Certain areas of the facility have specific age use guidelines. They are as follows:
WELLNESS CENTER – ages 14 years and older
FREE WEIGHT ROOM – ages 14 years and older
AEROBIC STUDIO – ages 14 years and older
WEE CARE (NURSERY) – ages 6 weeks to 6 years
HAMMER STRENGTH ROOM – ages 14 years and older
GAME ROOM AREA – all ages
LOBBY AREA – adults and children with parents
SWIMMING POOL – ages 6 and under with an adult; ages 7 years and older depends on the type of activity (see pool schedule)
