Aqua Aerobics - High intensity, low impact. Stay cool while you improve your strength, muscle tone, flexibility, and cardiovascular system. Work at your own pace to get a total body workout.

Aqua Jog - A fun class conducted in the deep end. This class has all the cardiovascular and stretching you need. A flotation belt is worn that is made especially for this class. Must be comfortable in deep water. Morning and evening classes are available.
Morning class is held on Tuesday & Thursday 9:30-10:30 a.m. Evening class is held on either Monday & Wednesday 6:00-7:00 p.m. or Thursday 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Dick's Dolphins - Improve your current strokes, make new friends and learn new skills. This class allows you to become more comfortable in water at any age. Progress at your own rate. Swim skills required for this class.

Hydrotone - This class is a high energy water exercise that will tone your muscles, increase your cardiovascular endurance, and improve your attitude towards exercise. The water allows you to increase your flexibility and improve your cardiovascular fitness without any impact to your joints.

Active Older Adult Water Exercise - This class is especially designed for mature adults. An extra 15 minutes allows more stretching and joint work. The class goal is to keep seniors age 60 and up moving!

Specialty Aquatic Classes
T.O.W. (Terrified Of Water) Adult Beginner- This class is meant for adults who wish to attend water fitness classes or swim laps for fitness, but have little or no swimming ability. Even those adults who are frightened of the water are encouraged to participate.
This class is held on Saturdays 11:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Fee: $49 for non-members, $27 for Y members.

Pre- T.O.W. (Terrified of Water) Youth Beginner- For children ages 3-5 who have some fear of the water, and/or fear of swimming without a parent. Parents are welcome to join the children in the class until they are comfortable swimming independently. This class offers a smaller (4:1) student to teacher ratio.
This class is held on Tuesdays 6:50 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. Fee: $49 for non-members, $27 for Y members.

Pre- Competitive- A new pre-competitive swim class will be offered to youth ages 6-up who are Minnow ability and above, and are considering joining a swim team. This will be an opportunity to learn and enhance proper stroke technique, conditioning drills, and competitive swimming skills. Class participants will learn and work on: 400 yards non-stop swimming, 200 yards freestyle and backstroke, 100 yards individual medley, 50 yards breaststroke, 25 yards butterfly, and racing dives/turns.
Classes will be taught by a nationally certified instructor with current competitive swimming experience. Children who have not been enrolled previously in our swimming program will need to to perform a swim test prior to the class.
This class is held on Saturdays 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Fee: $50 for non-members, $30 for Y members.

Adult Stroke Development- This new class is geared towards adults who wish to learn to swim more efficiently and for longer distances. Whether for competitive training such as a triathlon or simply for a great workout, a nationally certified instructor will help you reach your goals by teaching proper stroke technique and conditioning drills.
Participants in this class may help establish a masters swim group for Spring!
This class is held on Saturdays 12:00 p.m.- 1:00 p.m. Fee: $50 for non-members, $30 for Y members.

Off-Site Aquatic classes:
Arthritis - This warm water class gives people with arthritis an opportunity to join a recreational exercise program. A YMCA instructor leads the class in specially designed activities that help improve joint flexibility and muscle strength. this class is held at the Illinois Veteran's Home on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday. Class size is limited to 35 participants.
