Personal Training

The YMCA offers personalized training programs of support & motivation with an individual trainer. Our Personal Training Team is here to help you attain your fitness goals through a variety of services and programs.

Meet our Personal Trainers:

Marcheta Brecht

Education/Certification: Received B.S. in Psychology from W.I.U. in 5/1976. Completed YMCA Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer Certification in 11/2003.

Experience: Started in fitness at YMCA in 9/1998. Taught indoor cycling, helped initiate Yoga, Pilates, and Body Blast classes. Wellness Center Coordinator until March 2007, attended 2 Power Yoga training seminars in Utah and Kansas.

 Interests:  Yoga, Bosu training, muscle conditioning using weights a/o machines and womens' training, updating through fitness magazines, training videos and seminars

“I feel fortunate to have a job that I thoroughly enjoy and believe in. Getting to know my clients individually is the best part of my job.  My goal is to keep my clients routines fresh, finding the best program for them and to have them look forward to their session with me.”

Kent Kreinberg

Kent is a Certified Personal Trainer and has been training for 8 years.  He has been a Boot Camp instructor for 10 years and heavily involved in fitness for more than 35 years.  He loves to lift weights, run, bike and do total fitness activities.  He has run in a marathon, half marathons and monster adventure races.

Jill Shoot

Education/Certifications: Received MBA from ISU in 12/1990. Completed YMCA Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer Certification in 11/2003. 

Experience: Completed 10 Marathons, including 2 Boston Marathons and the Disney Marathon, 2 Half-Marathons, 3 Midwest Monster Adventure Races; have taught Yoga and Pilates; have worked with clients with arthritis

Interests and Specializations: Functional training, women’s fitness, yoga, BOSU training, core strengthening

Sarah Wheeler

 

Education/Certification: Graduated in May of 2008 from University of Missouri – Columbia with a Bachelor’s of Health Science and Master’s of Physical Therapy. Sarah holds her Personal Training Certification through A.C.E.

 Experience: Sarah is currently employed as a Physical Therapist at Blessing Hospital and has been working one on one with clients for 6 years. She also worked for the University of Missouri Student Recreation Complex for four years as a Personal Trainer and Facility Supervisor.

“I have a strong love of fitness. I enjoy running cycling and strength training and want to pass that along to my clients in order to help them achieve their fitness goals.”

Julie Hilling

Education/Certifications: AFAA Personal Trainer Certification and YMCA Group Exercise Instructor Certification. Julie has also attended many fitness conferences including Reebok Resolution, and IDEA Fact Fusion

Experience: Has taught Fitness classes for 16 years including; Muscle Conditioning, Abdominals, Body Blast, Cardio Sculpt, Interval Training, Pump N Jump and Spinning. Completed Chicago Marathon, St. Louis ½ Marathon, 3 Midwest Monster Adventure Races. 

Interests and Specializations: BOSU Training, Interval Training, Abdominal Training, Muscle Conditioning and Stability Ball training.

Dawn Fleer

Education/Certification: Received her personal training certification through AFAA in Jan. 2009.

Experience:  Outside of teaching boot camps and kickboxing, I have worked one on one with many individuals, designing programs that were goal specific for the past 8 years.  I also do nutrition and wellness consulting and have done wellness coaching for businesses. 

Interest and Specialization:  I specialize in interval training that focuses on body fat reduction and the building of lean muscle mass.  I enjoy working one on one with men and women using free weights, pulley systems, hammer strength equipment and plyometrics.

“I like to challenge and encourage my clients to surpass their physical and mental boundaries.  As your trainer I will take your health and wellness personally, walking along side you to help you achieve ALL your goals.  My training style is individualized and goal specific.”

Pricing:
Single Participant:
1-5 sessions: $32/session. non-member $47
6-10 sessions: $30/session, non-member $45 
11+ sessions: $27/session, non-member $42

Partner/Dual Participant:
1 session: $45/session, non-member $60
2-10 sessions: $40/session, non-member $55
11+ sessions: $35/session, non-member $50


Girl's Night Out

(Special program for girls, grades 5-8)

Is everything around you changing?
Your appearance, the way you feel,
the things you like and don't like?

Lots of girls your age feel the very same way.
To help you survive all the changes within and around you, the Quincy Family YMCA and the Girl Scouts of Two Rivers Council is offering Girl's Night Out!

This is a program for girls that runs during the school year, with activities that focus on being strong in spirit, mind, body, and promote self-esteem, confidence and wellness. Discover new talents, learn new skills, make new friends, and explore new opportunities. Topics and activities include CSI/Murder Mystery, Horseback Riding, Scuba Diving, Art Projects, Music, and much, much more.

Program activities will be conducted at a variety of locations throughout the year. Meeting twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Thursday, from 6-8 pm , the girls will be experiencing many new activities, meeting new friends, and learning more about themselves in the process. Program registration is $35.00 and there are scholarships available for girls to join this program.

Birthday Parties at the YMCA!

Silver Party
YMCA Provides:  Up to one hour in our YMCA party room, one hour in a specialty area of your choice (pool, gym, game room), YMCA Party invitations

You provide: Birthday child, guests, cake, party favors, drinks, decorations, paper goods, set-up and cleanup.  (By choosing Silver Party option you agree to clean up party room and leave our YMCA clean.  You further agree that failure to do so will result in a $20 invoice for staff cleaning services.)

Price for up to 10 children (Birthday child is free!) $3 each additional child up to maximum of 20.  YMCA Members:  $60 / Non-members:  $80
Standard price above must be paid in full at time of booking.  Additional child fee may be paid day of party.  Silver Party payment is non-refundable.   

Gold Party
YMCA provides: Everything in Silver option plus; decorations, drinks, paper goods, t-shirt for the birthday child, personalized birthday banner, birthday cake (decorated standard with balloons or flowers, no upgrades), and a personal party host(ess) to assist with set up, serving, and clean up.

You provide: Birthday child and guests

Price for up to 10 children (Birthday child is free!) $3 each additional child up to maximum of 20.  YMCA Members:  $80 / Non-members:  $100
$25 non-refundable deposit due at time of booking.
Remaining balance to be paid day of party.

Platinum Party
YMCA provides: Everything in Silver and Gold option plus; ice cream cups (mix of vanilla and chocolate), theme decorated birthday cake (you choose the theme, subject to store availability), YMCA goody bag for each child, 2 free family guest passes to return to the YMCA for birthday child, 1 free family guest pass to return to the YMCA for other children.  (If already a member, party guest passes can be gifted to others.)

You provide: Birthday child and guests

Price for up to 10 children (Birthday child is free!) $3 each additional child up to maximum of 20.  YMCA Members:  $100 / Non-members:  $120
$25 non-refundable deposit due at time of booking.
